80 years ago, le Societe Autonyme Belge d'Exploitation de la Navigation Aerienne (SABENA) was started. It replaced our previous national airline: SNETA. The first payed route started at 1st April 1924, it was Rotterdam - Brussels - Strasbourg. Further destinations served were London, Amsterdam, Basle, Bremen and Copenhagen. Unfourtunally it is difficult to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Sabena... We all know why. Sabena went bankrupt one and a half year ago. Let me say that we want to keep the Sabena spirit alive! Lets all think about this historical moment and we suggest you to perform your next flight in a Sabena plane (even if you are on the SNBA department). Greetz, The Staff |
